TN Promise Meeting - March 26 at 5:30 p.m.

Team Meetings are MANDATORY!

 

You are required to attend the mandatory meeting assigned to your high school. Parents are encouraged to attend team meetings but cannot attend on your behalf. You can find a complete meeting schedule by high school at www.tnachieves.org and on page 29-40 of the TN Achieves Student handbook. In addition to school announcement reminders, you will receive reminders as your second meetings approaches. Make sure to check the email address provided on your TN Promise application!

 

Work and lack of transportation are not valid excuses to miss your mandatory meeting - make arrangements now! Early graduates are also required to attend meetings assigned to the high school from which you graduated.

 

Failure to attend this meeting will result in the loss of your TN Promise eligibility.

 

Senior Scholarships- Do you need money for college? There is a scholarship wall outside of my office located in the downstairs circle. For these scholarships apply based on your GPA, Major, and even various universities. Come take a look!

Junior Scholarships- The below scholarships are available to current juniors:

 

Become a Furman Scholar

 

Students selected as Furman Scholars are eligible at least $20,000 per year, over $80,000 over four years, in scholarships upon acceptance to Furman University.

 

Requirements:

•Must be current Juniors

•A genuine interest in an education in the liberal arts and sciences

•A high school weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher

•At least 1300 on SAT, a 1360 on the SAT-R, a 1360 on the PSAT, or a 29 on the ACT or Aspire (excluding writing) .

•Significant involvement in extracurricular activities and community service

•Demonstrate leadership potential

 

You must receive a nomination from a teacher or counselor. Your teacher or counselor must use the below link to submit an online nomination for you. admission.furman.edu/register/FurmanScholar .

 

Berea College Scholarship:

 

*students must be nominated by teacher or counselor to be considered.

•Legacy Scholar Award: African-American juniors who have achieved academic excellence.

•Students ranked in the top 20% of their class scholarship.

 

Required criteria :

•Qualify for free/reduced lunch

•Unweighted GPA of 3.25 or above

•ACT composite: 20-30 (SAT 1030-1350)

•Commitment to service, leadership, or community involvement.

 

2019 State Farm Companies Foundation Scholarship Program Enrollment :

Entry forms are now being accepted through March 31, 2018 for high school juniors ( 11th grade/third year) who will be completing or leaving high school and entering college in the fall of 2019. For complete information and to access the Entry Form, please visit the Foundation Scholarship site.

 

Legal dependents of State Farm employees, agents, and retirees are eligible to compete for this scholarship. The following requirements must be met :

 

•Students take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) during the fall of their junior year in high school.

•State Farm associates (employees, agents, retirees) submit a Foundation Scholarship Entry Form to the Foundation by March 31 of the following year.

 

National Merit Scholarship Corporation notifies scholarship recipients by May of the students' senior year. Each scholarship recipient will receive $3,000-$8,000 per year for four years toward undergraduate degree at an accredited U.S college or university.
